For those who have not tried this game till now must read further to find out more about it. It is a simple game which enables you to win big, but only if you have the ability to survive through all its twists. All you need to do is to remain a few steps ahead of your opponent players. You can start with few poker chips and then progress to the usual method of coins and higher buy-ins.

Rules of the game are as follow-

• Poker chips are distributed equally to all the players with a minimum of thirty chips per player.
• Using the royal rummy play board, place a chip on the usual eight sections of the mat and one at the center.
• While dealing cards, hand out the usual number of cards along with an extra piece of dummy card.
• The dummy hand is to be auctioned and the one who takes the dummy hand must keep his actual card away while playing.
• While playing, the participants must place their bets choosing a card from the selections that will ensure the best poker hand. Gradually the bets are raised and the final best hand wins the pot.
• After the completion of poker round, a new rummy round starts from the player sitting left to the winner of the last round.
• This pattern continues till one of the competitors plays his last card ensuring the completion of a round. The winner takes all the chips that were at stake.

Each game consist of five hands, and each hand ends when any one of the players discard all his cards. The scores from the five hands are added for each player and the player with the lowest score is declared as the winner.

• This game can be played by 2 and 8 players. When two players play, a single deck can be used. If more than two players are playing then 3-4 decks can be used as per the requirement.
• All cards are shuffled properly and the dealer of the game deals the cards to all players. Place the rest of the cards face down at the center of table to form a “drawing pile.”
• The topmost card from the drawing pile is picked up and placed at the right side to start the pile discard. The game is initiated by the player to the dealer’s left, who will draw a card either from the top of the discard pile or from the drawing pile. And has to discards one card to the discarded pile.
• If another player wants the card at the top of the discard pile, they can try to claim it, but it is up to the player who is drawing to decide whether he wants the card. If he decides he doesn’t want the card, the player that claimed that card may pick it up, but also must pick up a card from the draw pile as a penalty. Play continues in a clockwise motion round the table
•  The turn moves in clockwise direction and all players follow this order of drawing and discarding card.
• If all cards in the drawing pile have been used before the game ends, the discard pile is shuffled and put face down on the table to form a drawing pile.
•  The game gets over when a player has laid down all the in-hand cards or when there are no cards left to draw either from the discard pile or the drawing pile.
• At the end, points of all players are summed up and the player with the lowest score is declared as the winner.

• Polish rummy is all about accumulating the highest points in the game. Aces are worth fifteen points. This is not applicable in a three Ace sequence. The queens, jacks and kings are worth 10 points each. The remaining cards are worth as per their face value.
• There must be a dealer in the game and the majority of the players must decide who he or she will be.
• One card has to be dealt face up to each player. The lowest card holder must deal the first hand. The second lowest will choose his seat. The third lowest chooses the seat next to second one. In this way, all players take their seats accordingly.
• All cards are shuffled properly and the player to the dealer’s right needs to cut the deck.
• All cards must be dealt in a clockwise direction to all players. All cards except one must be kept face down till each player is dealt seven cards.
• Player to the left of the dealer will initiate the game. He can draw a card from either the discard pile or the stock pile. If he draws from the discarded cards, then he must use the card. The player needs to discard one card at the end of his turn.
• The discarded cards should be arranged well so that all the cards in the pile can be seen.
• Polish rummy is played clockwise where players have the options of picking multiple cards from the discard pile. The bottom card of the pile must be part of the meld where the player gets the option to make new matches.
• The score must be kept at all times. The game is over either when one player runs out of cards or when stock is empty.

While the rules for traditional rummy are common and simple, Chinese rummy has certain exotic aspects to it. Chinese rummy can be played by two or three players and the deck to be used has twenty seven cards. The cards are named according to Chinese culture. the card of deck include a yang card, a yin card, five element cards, five cards of beasts for sacrifice, five direction cards, five virtues cards and five blessing cards. The general shuffling of the deck ensures that each player gets five cards in hand. Once you are done with dealing of cards, turn your attention to the remaining cards to begin the discard pile by flipping out the topmost card. now, all players will take their turn while the deal moves in clockwise manner. When your turn comes, draw a card either from the stock or the discard pile.

In rummy, its all about winning the hand and the first player to make the valid meld wins the hand. But the meld can be one of the following types-

• A flush, when all the cards are from a single suit.
• A straight, when one has cards from one to five with each card belonging to distinct suits.
• Five of its types, It is a condition which is fulfilled when all the cards in hand would be of the same rank.

Along with these, the yin card and the yang card can play a vital role in the game play. As both can serve as wild cards; while the yin card can effectively ensure a flush, the yang card can be used to fulfill the five of its type conditions.

Rules of the game
The game begins with the dealer who deals seven cards to each player. The deal has to go from left to right in a clockwise manner. All players have to keep their cards face down on the table till every player has got seven cards. The remaining undistributed cards are kept at the center of the table and are called stock. The topmost card from the stock is taken out and placed face-up on the table to start the game.

• When it comes to the rules of 7 cards rummy, the aim of the game is to be the first player to ensure that they have the matching combination. • The player can draw a card from the discard pile as well as stock but it is advisable to pick cards from discard pile only when he is confident about the card combination that can be made by using that card.
• The main objective of 7 card rummy is to get rid of all the cards by arranging them in matching combinations. When one player successfully achieves this, he then becomes inactive and rest of the players continue the game until it is down to just two players.
• For a player to win the game, he has to pick the card that has won but still needs to discard one card from his hand & place it face down in the pile of face up cards. He will then need to show his cards to the remaining players to indicate his end of participation in the game. If he has the winning combination, he is indeed the winner.
• The rules of 7 card rummy are easy and one only needs to keep a check on shuffling the deck and following a clockwise rotation of the player’s turn.

Objective
The aim of the game is to arrange all the in-hand cards into valid combinations of four sequences.

Rules
Once the cards are dealt, the dealer leaves an upturned card and the other player can either pick up that card or the topmost card from the pile of cards remaining. He can keep the card or discard it. The same goes for the other player, he will be either picking up a card discarded by the other player or a card from the pile.

Wild Cards
The four suit rummy considers the aces as wild cards. By a wild card, we mean that an ace of clubs can replace any club card. For example, a set of 5-A-7 (all three cards of clubs) is also taken as a run because the ace which is the wild card of the game, will replace 6.

Points
The points in the four suit rummy are calculated on the basis of number of runs that a player has made. Each run made by a player gives him 20 points. In case, he has two runs having the same set of numbers, he gets an additional 50 points. It should be noted that a player gets an extra 50 points for every matching set. For example, in case he has three sets with the same ranks, he will get 150 additional points, 50 for each matching set of run.

Winner
There can be two types of card games possible in the four suit rummy; We can have a pre-decided number of hands to be played, mostly ten, and the player who has the highest points wins the game. Another way is having a run of 1000. The player who first reaches 1000 points is declared as the winner. Even in this case, if both players reach the 1000 point mark in the same hand, the player with the higher score wins.

This practice can be offered without any need to keep scores and, since only three to five players are needed to play rummy, the wise player may provide for individual differences by careful assignment of the appropriate game.

Rules of the game -
• The dealer deals five cards to each player and turns the remaining cards face down as a “drawing stack.” The card on the top of the stack is turned face up to begin a discard pile.
• The player may draw the card either from the top of the draw stack or the card from the pile discarded. Subsequent players may take one card from the draw stack of 4 cards from the pile discarded.
• If anyone wants the third card in the pile discarded, he must take only the first and second card. After each play, the player must discard one card to the discarded pile.
• The objective of the game is to get rid of all the cards in hand by (a) making four-card books, (b) making three-card spreads, (c) playing a fourth card on another person’s three-card spread, or (d) discarding. The game continues until one person is able to get rid of all cards in hand. If the drawing stack runs out somehow, the discard pile is shuffled and placed face down which serve as the new drawing stack. This is one of the precise methods of how to play shanghai rummy.
• Each rummy deck requires fifty-two, three-by-five cards to make thirteen books with four cards in each book. A book is a collection of related facts or pictures. Cards to be used
In this version of rummy, you may need two to three standard decks of 52 cards each. In case of 5 players or less, 2 decks are used whereas in case of 6 players, we have to use three decks. Now, you need to deal 11 cards to each player and keep the remaining cards face down at the center of the table.

Main objective
The players can make a set or a run of all the cards that they have in their hand. When a player has three or four cards which have the same rank but belong to different suits then that pack of cards can be called a set while in case when the cards are in a sequence and belong to same suit, they are called a run or sequence. The main objective is to have the maximum score at the end.

Rules of game
Basically, Kentucky Rummy is supposed to run for a sequence of 10 hands with each hand having a different pre-requisite. All players need to play until there is a player who has shed all his cards. Each player will get the points equal to the number of cards he has shed. As you make your meld, you are supposed to put those cards face down in front of you, so that other players are informed of your progress.

Wild entry choice
You can also take the card discarded by a player if it will help you to complete your meld. For this, you need to take permission from the player who has discarded the card, who has the choice of allowing you to have it or not. This is also known as “May I” rule and is allowed only three times in Kentucky Rummy.

Point system
You need to subtract the points of the cards which are left in your hand after the hand is over and add the points of the cards in your meld. The total of all these points will be added to your cumulative score and the player with the maximum score will be the winner of the game.

Rules of the game -
• Players get 10 cards each.
• Rest of the pile is tossed aside making it a “draw pile”. Beside this, the top card is placed face up.
• The player other than the dealer picks a card from the draw pile and discards one of his cards.
• Sequential turns follow. The game goes on until any one of the players has ten or less points left.
• A player can “knock” after drawing and before discarding a card.
• At the knock, the other player adds a card to the sets of the knocker.
• When a knocker knocks with few points, both the players’ remaining hands are calculated after the exchange. If the knocker has fewer points, he scores.
• If the knocker has equal or more points than his opponent, he is “undercut” or weakened. In this case, the opponent wins the difference between their points, plus 10 points.
• A player might go “gin”. That is to have zero points in hand while knocking. In this case, a bonus of 20 points is added to the difference of the points and the whole is credited to the knocker. For instance, If player1 knocks with zero points while player2 has 6 points, a grand total of 26 points is credited to player1.
• In the same process, the second round is initiated. The dealer should be switched in each round.
• When a player wins 100 points, the game stops but continues until he has reached 100 points in all the three rounds.

Disclaimer -
Two or more sets cannot share the same card at one time.

How to Play-

• The deck of cards is shuffled and cards are dealt. Before this is done, however, each player enters or places one chip on the one pot of the board. Every single card must be dealt which usually results in some players having more cards than others.

• The dealer gets certain advantages. For example, while dealing, the dealer deals an extra hand of cards called the widow hand which he can exchange with his own hand [the dealer’s hand] if he wishes so. Or else, it is auctioned and given to the player whose bid is the highest. This person then exchanges his hand for the widow hand after paying the bid to the dealer.

• The person sitting just left to the dealer will start betting. A prior limit may be set to the betting [for example, 10 chips at most or so on]. The basic rules of poker are followed in the game. Therefore one can Play Rummoli even if one has an idea of basic poker.

• The person who has the best hand wins the pot, and also gains the chance of paying down his hand’s lowest card. This is followed by the player who has the next higher card of the suit laying down his card and so on, till no one has the next sequential card anymore.

• If there are no more sequential cards, the player who laid the last card will now lay a lowest card of the opposite color’s suit. This continues and if a person does not have the opposite color’s card, he or she has to pay one chip into the pot. The first person to lay down all his cards wins the pot.
